Not only are we unveiling a fresh new look which brings Transport Open Data in line with our other NSW Government sites, but we are expanding our offering to provide enriched insights, interactive maps and an improved customer experience.
Enhancements to the site’s accessibility options will also enable Transport to leverage new opportunities for partnerships and collaborations with organisations and developers wishing to use Transport data and make a positive impact for transport users across NSW.
Changes to the homepage
The Open Data Hub homepage will have a whole new look. When users first log in following go live, they will notice that the Open Data logo has been replaced with the NSW Government Logo and new navigation tiles have been added to enable users to access the existing as well as new sections. The navigation to Login and Register is still conveniently located on the top right-hand corner of the home page, while the search function will now be available once users click on the navigation links or into the homepage tiles.
New features and enhancements

Secure and restricted access to designated data and insights can be made available to our partners under data sharing agreements. This will enable us to unlock the value of our data and release benefits for our communities,
How will this change impact existing users?
There is no significant impact expected for users. The changeover will take place outside working hours and will not result in an outage or disrupt users access to data. Once the change goes live, users will be able to log in and access data in the same way they currently do. While the homepage will look different, intuitive navigation will enable users to easily access existing data sets as well as all the new features from the new tiles on the home page.
When will this change take place?
The new look Open Data Hub is scheduled to go live on 24 October 2024. The Open Data Team are currently in the process of finalising all the changes and conducting extensive testing to ensure users have a great experience when they first log in to the Open Data Hub post go live.
